First Nations Curators' Program
Applications are open year round
Applications to Firstdraft’s First Nations Curators’ Program in NSW are open year round and assessed periodically. The program supports an emerging Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander practitioner to present an exhibition at Firstdraft.
The Program is designed to provide early career curatorial practitioners with new skills, professional development and access to key industry networks. The Firstdraft board will work with the recipient to select a mentor of their choice.
Successful applicants receive
> $1000 for artist fees per exhibition
> $1500 curators fee per exhibition
> Professional mentorship with an established First Nations curator
> A fully subsidised four-week exhibition across two gallery spaces
> The opportunity to develop a public program
> Access to Firsdraft’s equipment and resources
> Promotion through Firstdraft’s digital channels
